Millimeter "Sonomic Offers Online Library Card" August 2002
This was a review of the Library Card, a retail product I put together that allowed people to purchase "download credits" for Sonomic in actual physical stores - similar to iTunes but redeemable for royalty-free samples and sound effects through Sonomic's online sound library database . Things went great at first - we got into domestic ( ie Guitar Center, Sam Ash, B&h)and international retail stores but once our business focus changed and advertising budget disintegrated it was hard to get the awareness (beyond rep incentives) necessary to sustain retail success . They are still in stores although not as many and as strong as when we rolled them out. These were the early, early days - as an analog, iTunes was barely out of the gates at this point and digital distribution was young in concept and mass consumer recognition/adoption.
